Larry's cleaning house!

Holy Shit! Has it been a slow news day or what? LG has been in about 60% of the stories in the CA today. His latest goatfuck is explained below:

Police Director Larry Godwin said if an officer receives multiple complaints, the department may move the officer to another precinct to see if the complaints continue.

"We're looking for a pattern," Godwin said. "Sometimes drug dealers and others will keep filing complaints just to try to cause an officer trouble. We investigate those claims and watch the officer to see if there is a problem and if early intervention might solve it."

We've been telling the 12th floor this shit for years. They don't care and will pick and choose who they charge. How many times have you been at a hearing and heard "I didn't want to give you any days, but the 12th floor said no less than 3"? I've represented many officers during their raping and heard it every time.

You better practice what you preach there Larry Boy.

Golden Flow

We received an e-mail that the entire Delta Shift at Airways had to participate in a "random" drug screening. The WHOLE shift. How is that random? The explanation was that MPD had gotten behind on their "random" screenings. We smell a rat. Could this be an attempt to ferret out the "Phantom" of the station?

We suggest that the next time a "random" screen needs to be done, they start at the 12th floor. It's obvious that the administrators have been smoking dope or eating shrooms. Their fantasy of Blue Crush reducing crime could only come from an extreme stoner.

As some of you experienced today, we had an idiot cut and paste in the Caption Contest section. We do not edit posts. We will start policing the comments and unnecessary bullshit will be deleted. Agressive policing vs. common sense

Do we really need to post this topic? Ok, here goes. The recent media blitz about a prisoner being tuned up has been on every news anchors lips like white on rice (yeah, we went there). The "dramatic" video depicts an officer attempting to gain compliance over a prisoner during the booking process.

Now, we are not here to name names, point fingers, or Monday morning QB someone. The name of the officer in the video is irrelevant. What the public saw was an MPD officer allegedly violating the prisoner's rights. This will cause EVERY officer some grief for at least the next six months. Each traffic stop, each domestic and every public event will be overshadowed by this event. Whether some jackass in the public screams "Rodney King" when you show up or you hesitate the next time you're handling a situation, you'll be effected.

Most of us have common sense when it comes to police work. However, we all know certain officers that are just out of control when it comes to their emotions. Knowing when and where to administer a John Gaston Turban is something that needs to be taught by all FTOs. There are certain unwritten rules when it comes to us vs. them. Like flight vs. fight. Yep. It's backwards. Most thugs know that a run from an officer might end up with a trip to the Med. That's the price you pay when you run and criminals know that. It's a game. If someone is running from you, they aren't going to quit once they're caught. The fight is on. Once you get them under control, that's it! No Freeze +P to the face, no cuff knuckle punches. This will get your ass sued, if not fired.

If any FTO has a hard headed rookie, just tell them the history of Patrick Joynt. We all have worked with Joynt at some point. He was strapped to tight in the mind and couldn't let things go. This eventually led to a shit load of deserved IAB complaints, Joynt losing his job and ending up in prison over bullshit thievery (due to losing his job).

We aren't advocating that every officer beat the shit out of the next guy that refuses to comply, runs, etc.. We are just making a point that you need to be smart about what you do. It effects us all in one way or another. When you're in the heat of a moment and about to tap dance on a thug, take half a second to think. Is it worth losing my job, being financially devastated or going to jail over this piece of crap? Hell no!!! They might beat the wrap, but they're not going to beat the ride. Drink an adult beverage when you get home and know that the prick will be eating a PB&J for dinner

Word has it that the survey below was sent out to all Majors and Lts. throughout the city. This is a mandatory survey on police leadership and all surveys MUST be returned for Chico's review. You'll note that the survey doesn't contain the question about senior leadership effectiveness, nor does it question the director's ineffective leadership. Enjoy.

Real Time Crime Center update

Our cameras were allowed to get a sneak peak into the "high" tech MPD's new Real Time Slime Center. As you can see from the picture above, nothing was spared on this million dollar project. They even brought back a 30 year Captain from retirement!

The RTCC will be Larry Boy's answer to fighting crime in Memphis. This new smoke an d mirrors escapade will give the citizens a sense that he's doing something about us being number 2 in violent crime. Also, this will allow him more face time with the media. He loves to be on TV. There's a rumor that he's trying to become a member of the Screen Actors Guild.

Godwin + Blue Crush=Bullshit

The CA this morning has another propaganda article highlighting Blue Crush. When are the citizens gonna wake up and realize that it's just a dog and pony show. The crime rate in Memphis is steadily rising and a tidy bowl inspired zero tolerance initiative isn't helping. We all know that to get tough on crime, you must let the officers be tough on criminals.

Now, we are not saying that we should go around and whip everybody's ass. Each officer knows who the criminals are in their ward, where the "dopeboys" hang and where the gang members recruit. Aggressively checking these criminals may deter crime and remove violent offenders from the street. What's the catch? Every thug will start complaining and trips to Security Squad will rise. No officer likes to be complained on and the thugs know this. The thugs know that if an officer "harasses" (checks more than once a week) them, they can complain and the officer will be moved or suspended.

Hug a thug doesn't work. Lock their ass up and keep them there. The justice system is failing the street level officer and the citizens of Memphis. Some of these elected officials need to have their record checked before re-election.
